"Pings" refers to a method for receiving automatic notification by email whenever a new item is posted on a feed. Much of the content on this website is actually posted on RSS feeds, one for each topic, that are displayed on various pages throughout the site. RSS feeds offer (among other things) the opportunity to be alerted as to changes on a website without having to remember to visit the website.
Click a topic at the right. A page will open for registering for ping email for that topic. You do not have to open an account to register for this service. You will be asked to verify your email address through a simple process involving a validation code we email to you. For your protection, we do not record your email address in our database until after you validate it using that validaiton code. We do not offer or sell email addresses under any conditions.
When new items are posted, you will receive an email that alerts you about that new posting. The email includes a link that, when clicked, opens a page showing the new item as well as all previously posted items. The email also includes instructions of un-registering for (opting out of) the ping email.
